      On Line Services

On-line services are similar to on-site services but have been modified to fit the format in which they are offered.

On Line Services   (click on a topic below for more details)

» Written Program Development

Employers are required to have written programs describing their safety and health policies and procedures. VSM’s On-line Consulting Service provides an efficient, economical means for accomplishing that task. A series of questions asks users to identify the major hazards in their facilities and VSM selects the programs based on the responses given. Once selected, each program can be edited for site specificity. Information is kept on-line, available 24/7, or can be printed and bound.

» Development of Employee Safety Handbook

The Employee Safety Handbook is a “distilled” abbreviated version of the Policies and Procedures programs and includes only details essential for employees to work safely.

Subjects included in the Policies and Procedures are automatically included in the Employee Safety Manual. Additional subjects can be included at user discretion.

» Site Safety Audit Guidance

Forty four individual audit check lists are available to guide users through the safety audit process. Users select subjects (based on facility programs and hazards) for inclusion in the audit process and follow instruction to evaluate conditions at the work site. Information gained through the audit process can then be used to improve safety as well as regulator compliance.

» Comprehensive Program Management

The major strength of VSM is its ability to help manage a company’s safety and health programs. Once information is entered into the program, appropriate data bases are created and maintained thereafter, including all safety policies and procedures, employee safety hand books, results of safety audits, employee training records, and performance tracking.

» On Line Training Services

VSM’s On-line training modules are appropriate for training one person or used by an instructor for group training. The basic format is the same in both cases.

Those taking the training, work through a lesson and then take an examination to verify subject matter understanding. If the training is taken by one person, exam performance becomes part of the employee training record and maintained for the required period.

If the training is used for group training, individual results must be entered into the database where they are handled in the same manner as those from one who took the training as an individual.

The following on-line training classes are available:

  • Access to Medical and Exposure Records (29 CFR, 1910.1020)
  • Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) (29 CFR, 1910.147)
