Keep Updated with Site-Specific Safety Audits

In active, dynamic work places, conditions continuously change. Employees come and go. Facilities are updated and remodeled. Old equipment is removed and new equipment added. Processes and procedures are modified. These things are good - keeps a business moving towards greater efficiencies, productivity, and profitability.

During periods of change, safety programs sometimes don’t garner the attention they should. As time passes, safety programs may not accurately reflect current working conditions or new hazards that employees may face.

Maintaining the focus of the safety program is easy with the Virtual Safety Manager (VSM). By keeping safety programs updated, employees are prepared to protect themselves and those working around them.

Subject specific audits cover the most common safety programs, potential worksite hazards and documentation/recordkeeping requirements. VSM users can pick and choose the audits that apply to individual facilities and add them to a schedule. VSM reminds the Safety Program Administrator of the audits scheduled for the month.

To add Site-Specific Safety Audits in VSM, start in the Tools menu and scroll down to “Internal Safety Audits and Hazard Assessments” and then click “Select Facility Safety Audits.”

    The following screen appears:

Once audit selections are made, scroll to the bottom and click the “Save” button. The selections will be saved and ready are for scheduling.

A unique feature of VSM is its ability to “Remind” those in charge that certain tasks should be performed.

For users with administrative privileges, a series of scheduled activities appear each time they log in. Those activities, including Scheduled Safety Audits, appear until the administrator removes them by acknowledging that the task has been completed. A new set of reminders are added each month.
